How It All Started
Crooks & Sons was founded in 1954 by Woodrow Bryan Crooks known to most as "Woody". He decided that Anderson and the surrounding areas had a demand for screen and glass repair. Woody set up the business and later started manufacturing storm windows and doors. Then the demand for steel and aluminum gutters came about so he decided to then branch off into other home improvements. In 1957, Woody started manufacturing his own porch enclosure system in which many are still in strong standing today.
In the 1970s, vinyl siding and windows were introduced and the home improvement business flourished from then on. Woody always made sure that Crooks & Sons was based on premium products and outstanding workmanship.

Dino
Woody’s Son
Crooks & Sons has always been a family business. Dino (Woody’s son) remembers working in the shop when he was just a boy and throughout his high-school years. Dino left to go into the military. He was then called back in 1965 after knowing that his father’s health was deteriorating. He came home and learned all aspects of the business.
Dino stepped up and looked over his father’s business. Still to this day, he doesn’t miss out on much that goes on around Crooks & Sons. He is on every job inspecting the workmanship and he handles any screen and glass repairs that come through the door. Dino has always remained true in keeping his father’s business running the way Woody would have wanted it.
Terry Crooks
Dino’s Oldest Son
In 1991, Terry Crooks (Dino’s oldest son) came to work full-time at the family business. He was mostly taking care of the business aspects of Crooks & Sons as we continued to expand. When you call for an estimate, he is sure to be the one on your doorstep, with a tape measure in hand and a smile on his face.
Terry has a witty sense of humor and loves meeting new customers. He also enjoys hearing stories from customers. Over all these years, we’ve had him telling stories about his grandfather and past jobs.
